[title maintitle=”” subtitle=”List of Places Some Hate That Many People Love”]

As I stood looking out my hotel window in Vegas, I wanted to know if others had a travel destination they hated that many loved? I personally can’t stand Vegas, but many adults come here every year.

My gut said I wasn’t the only one.  Everyone must have one or more places that they secretly hate while others rant about them being must-see destinations. We don’t know about these secret feeling our friends and family are holding onto because they fear being judged. And I can’t blame them.

No one wants to be shamed or judged for hating a travel destination many people love, so we keep our mouths shut. This didn’t stop me from asking for a list of places. I simply thought by putting the words, “No Judgement” in my post people would feel free to respond.

I wasn’t prepared for the responses that came pouring in. Many places listed had me clutching for my imaginary set of pearls in judgment. But that’s the thing about travel, what works for one doesn’t work for all.

me trying not to judge

Some people think Paris is one of the top destinations in the world (I’m a card-carrying member of team Paris). While others were either disappointed or found Parisians to be rude. And I totally get it because Parisians at times can be rude. But then again, I’ve had amazing meals, taken Instagram worthy pictures and met some great friends in Paris. Paris will always have a special place in my heart, while for others it is their nightmare.

Like art, travel is in the eye of the beholder. Remembering this helps us not judge people for hating a travel destination many people love.
